Two Vehicle Wreck Near Foley Claims Orange Beach Woman’s Life

Foley, Ala. — (OBA) — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALES) is reporting that an Orange Beach woman died after a two-vehicle crash late Wednesday morning near Foley. The accident happened on South Hickory Street near Baldwin County 20. The ALEA said the crash involved a Chevrolet pickup and a Jeep SUV. Troopers are still investigating the cause of the crash.


The incident occurred around 10:48 a.m. yesterday, June 4th. Margie J. Roach, 71, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet S10 when it collided with a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The other driver was Joanna L. Favela, 50, of Silverhill.


Roach was taken to South Baldwin Hospital in Foley. She died from her injuries shortly after arriving. Favela’s condition was not released.


ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division is continuing to look into the crash. No further information has been released.

Foley Adds 22 Public Courts for Pickleball and Volleyball

Foley, Ala. — (OBA) — Foley now offers 12 public pickleball courts and 10 sand volleyball courts near the Coastal Alabama Farmer's and Fishermen’s Market. The city officially opened the new courts on Monday, June 2. Just minutes after the 6 p.m. opening, all 12 pickleball courts were full. Each court had four players enjoying the new space.
