Beginning this week and running through November, the Blue Angels opens the gate at NAS Pensacola tarmac to invite the public to watch the Blue Angels practice their shows.
Practice shows are typically held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 11:30 a.m., the show is nearly identical to the actual performances held at airshows all over the country. And there is no charge for the shows. On Wednesday's the team usually signs autographs at the museum.
Non-military must enter the base at the Blue Angel Parkway gate (see map below). Free parking is provided at National Museum of Naval Aviation. You can bring your own lawn chairs, but it’s a long walk from the car and the Museum foundation rents chairs on the flight line for $3, which is well worth it. Don't forget the sunscreen.
Early folks can sit in the perminant bleachers along the flight line/runway. The Foundation sells earplugs (recommended), bottled water, Chik-Fil-A sandwiches, and chips. Profits from the booth sales benefit the Museum.
