Karen WaldrupJune 14, 2017 - Orange Beach, AL (OBA) - Singer/Songwriter/Performer Karen Waldrup from New Orleans is currently living in Nashville Tennessee pursuing her music career. Karen has been performing gulf coast tours, including the Flora-Bama, with her band for the last 7 years.
Karen says in her bio that the artists who have influenced her music include Alanis Morissette, Ingrid Michaelson, Sheryl Crow, Jewel, Otis Redding and Janis Joplin. I detetected a hint of a young Dolly Parton, with an (from her website) "in-your-face" style of country music. She's across the USA and Europe... her stage presence mesmerizes her audiences; often receiving standing ovations.
Karen has made huge strides in her career over this last year. Since her last visit to the gulf coast she's been discovered by CMT and Country Rebel, exposing her to millions of new fans. Based on the views, likes and comments on Karen's videos, she's on the fast-track to national recognition. It's not unusual for Karen's videos to exceed 10 million views and several have received over 20 million.
Last year while, Karen and her band were playing at the Flora-Bama they filmed a video at the Flora-Bama and around Orange Beach of her song, I Got That Kind of Time. Her video sat in the number one position on CMT for five  weeks and in the top five for 12 weeks.
Check out her video below and see how many scenes from around Orange Beach you recognize.
After having a #1 music video on CMT, Country Rebel spotted Karen and started posting her videos on their website and social media pages. One of Karen's videos is of the Lee Ann Womack song, I Hope You Dance. This video has over 23 million views.
Karen covered a song by the band Alabama, Angels Among Us, with just her guitar. The smartphone video has over three million views.
Karen's acapella version of Amazing Grace has over 15 million views.
Karen's rendition of Harper Valley PTA has over 18 million views.
A couple of weeks ago, Country Rebel started Waldrup Wednesdays, where they feature a different video by Karen every week. This past Wednesday they posted She Talks To Angels. In less than 24 hours, it had over 750,000 views. It has now exceeded one million views.

Watching Karen's reactions to her work over the last few weeks, while preparing this article, it's easy to see... this gal is going places!
Karen and her band members, including Word Strickland on guitar, Jeremy Pearl on drums and Chris Schaffner on saxophone, will be performing at the Flora-Bama June 22nd, 23rd & 24th.
