January 17, 2013, Orange Beach, AL (OBA) – Harmony at the Gulf, a four-day gospel music event, takes place from Thursday, Jan. 31 to Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013 at the Event Center at The Wharf. Reflecting Romar Beach Baptist Church’s motto, “the lighthouse on the beach making a stand in the sand,” Harmony at the Gulf aims to inspire and touch the lives of all who attend in a positive and spiritual manner.
Several participating artists, including Phil Cross, Mark Bishop, Brian Free & Assurance and The Talleys, have achieved major music awards, top gospel hits and other notable nominations. Dove Award winner Cross is set to lead the AllStar Choir composed of all participating artists along with local vocalists to close out each evening.
Other award-winning and inspiring musicians taking the stage throughout the weekend include Mark209, the McClellan Singing Sisters, Paul’s Journey, Undivided, FourTwelve, Southern Plainsmen Quartet, Heritage Crossing, Chronicle, The Wine Family, Mountain Joy, Paul Family, Grace Trio, Amy Duncan, Rose Gilley, James Sheldon, Bourn Again, The Mattingly Family, Nikki Ellison, Dena Bond and David Bryan.
Optional exciting excursions with the performers take place on Friday, Feb.1 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. including dolphin cruises, fishing, golf, lunch, shopping and more. Cross and Bishop will present a special segment on Saturday, Feb. 2 from 1 to 4 p.m. showcasing the meaning behind various artists’ music followed by performances of each song. The weekend event concludes with 9 and 11 a.m. services at Romar Beach Baptist Church (23370 Perdido Beach Blvd.) on Sunday, Feb. 3.
General admission tickets cost $20 per session or $60 for all four sessions. For exclusive seating and special access to the artists, Artist Circle tickets may be purchased for $30 per session and $100 for all four sessions. Call 251-981-8960 for tickets.
Additionally, the community is encouraged to attend free kickoff concert rallies at Romar Beach Baptist Church (23370 Perdido Beach Blvd., Orange Beach) on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 27 at 9 and 11 a.m. Inspiring young talents The McClellan Singing Sisters from Adams, Neb. and Summerlyn Powers, a twelve-year-old vocalist and songwriter from Fairhope, Ala will extend an atmosphere of praise and worship. A special offering will be collected for the guest artists.
