Celebrate Christmas at these churches in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Alabama.December 12, 2018 – Orange Beach, AL (OBA®) – Celebrate the birth of Jesus at a variety of churches this year in both Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. There are denominations of all kinds as well as nondenominational services available all over the island. Find a place for your celebration on our list.

ORANGE BEACH

Orange Beach United Methodist will have two services on Christmas Eve. There will be a casual family-type service at 3:30 p.m. and at 5 p.m. the church will have its traditional candlelight service.

The Flora-Bama Church will celebrate Christmas with three family-friendly Christmas Eve services on the Flora-Bama tent stage at 4 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. This year will include kids singing and snow machines. While there are no services on Christmas Day, the Flora-Bama also welcomes all who wish to join them in good cheer to a Christmas potluck beginning at 1 p.m. on Christmas day. Everyone is welcome at Central’s Flora-Bama Church every Sunday at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

The Orange Beach Presbyterian Church will have a 6 p.m. candlelight service at the sanctuary on Canal Road.

The Orange Beach Community Church will have its traditional Christmas candlelight service on Sunday, Dec. 23, at 5 p.m.

The Romar Baptist Church is doing its traditional candlelight service for Christmas on Dec. 23 at 5 p.m.

St. Thomas by the Sea Catholic Church will have Christmas carols on Christmas Eve at 4:30 p.m. followed at 5 p.m. by a mass. The church will also have mass on Christmas Day at 9 a.m.

The Island Church will have Cookies and Carols on Dec. 23 at 8:30 and 10 a.m. and a Christmas Eve Service at 5:30 p.m.

Peace Lutheran on the Foley Beach Express will have a 6 p.m. candlelight service on Christmas Eve and a 9 a.m. service on Christmas Day.

Oasis Church at the Wharf will have their Christmas service from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

 

GULF SHORES

At Gulf Shores First Baptist Church there will be a candlelight communion at 5 p.m.

Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church has a variety of worship services. On Dec. 23 there will be 7:30 a.m. rosary and confessions, an 8 a.m. mass, a Christmas Eve Family mass at 4:30 p.m. and Mass During the Night starting at 9 p.m. On Christmas Day there will be an 8:30 a.m. rosary followed by mass at 9 a.m.

Holy Spirit Episcopal Church will have a Christmas Eve family service at 5 p.m. followed by a candlelight service at 10 p.m.

St. Jude’s by the Sea has services both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The church will host its 32nd annual Christmas Eve candlelight service at 7 p.m. and have services Christmas Day at 9 a.m.

St. Andrews by the Sea will have a 4 p.m. Christmas Eve family service with carols and readings and communion.

Lagoon Baptist Church will have a candlelight service at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church will have a service on Christmas Eve at 5 p.m.

Grace Lutheran will have two candlelight services on Christmas Eve one at 4 p.m. and another at 7 p.m.

The Unity Church meets at the Royal Oyster and is planning on attending a candlelight service at Unity of Pensacola. In 2019 the church will move to Mikee's Restaurant for meetings.

OTHER CHURCH CHRISTMAS EVENTS

Liberty Church in Foley will host Christmas Eve Services on Dec. 24th at 4:30 and 6:00 p.m. 

St. Jude’s By the Sea will have its annual children’s pageant on Dec. 15.

On Dec. 16 The Island Church will have a nativity scene with camels and a kid's Christmas celebration.

For the fifth year Gulf Shores Baptist Church will have Miracles in a Manger featuring nativity scenes from around the world. The exhibit will be open daily from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. through Sunday, Dec. 16.

First Presbyterian of Gulf Shores will offer the “Sounds of Christmas” on Dec. 20 at 6:30 p.m. featuring the Chancel Choir.

Members of the Unity Church will meet at the Royal Oyster at 11 a.m. and pass out cookies to first responders, hospital workers and volunteers.
