Roberts Brothers Real Estate Academy of Real Estate in Orange Beach Alabama.
By John Mullen
JUNE 29, 2018 – Orange Beach, AL (OBA®) – With Baldwin County’s burgeoning population – the fastest growing in the state – people are going to be buying houses. If you’re looking for a career change the Academy of Real Estate at Roberts Brothers Real Estate can put you right in the middle of this economic boom.
Butch Blum, with the Roberts Brothers Academy of Real Estate, is one of the instructors at the school and like most Real Estate companies, Roberts Brothers is looking for quality agents.
“We hire quality agents and that’s what we try to prepare our agents to be successful professionals,” Blum said.
Roberts Brothers Real Estate offers Academy of Real Estate classes in Orange Beach, Alabama.
The  Academy offers two state-mandated courses, a pre-license 60-hour class and the post-license class that is 30 hours.  The Academy offers these courses to anyone seeking a Real Estate License, even if their intention is to work with another Real Estate Company.  The goal is to educate all of our students regardless of
who they work for to be well-prepared and professional Real Estate Agents.
“Pre-license is learning the ins and outs and the requirements,” Blum said. “Post-license is actually putting it to work and how to do the business. We teach both. To receive your license, you must pass a 60-hour pre-license course then pass the state exam, then associate with a Real Estate Company. Next, you have six months to complete 30 hours of post-license.”
The goal of the first course is to get the students ready for the state real estate exam.
“We have certain requirements that they must meet before they can take the state exam and that way we feel they are well-prepared for the state exam,” Blum said.
The Academy does this by offering an excellent class, taught by experienced teachers who have been in the real estate business for many years.
“Our instructors are all brokers that have quite a few years of experience,” Blum said. “A couple of our instructors have
been elected Realtor of the Year by their local associations. We’ve had instructors that have attended the state leadership program. I, myself, am a past president of the Mobile Board of Realtors.”
And, Blum says, the students get to learn from a variety of instructors during the pre-license and the post-license sessions.
“The classes are taught by several instructors so that they get several different opinions and get to listen to instructors that may have expertise in different fields,” he said. “We have a broad spectrum of instructors and with knowledge in several areas of real estate. We offer a well-rounded course.”
The Academy of Real Estate has classes in three of Roberts Brothers five offices along the Gulf Coast including the one in Orange Beach. It’s currently housed at San Roc Cay above the Gulf Shores Steamer Restaurant but will soon move further west in a former bank building at 25239 Perdido Beach Blvd. next to the Walmart shopping center.
In Orange Beach classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and the next session begins July 10. The Malbis location also offers day classes on Mondays and Wednesdays, also from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Night classes are offered at the West Mobile office Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-9:30 p.m. For those whose schedule won’t allow them to attend classes, The Academy can provide information about how to sign up for online classes.
The Academy’s offerings go beyond just the two basic courses. Also available are a 60-hour broker pre-license course as well as several continuing education classes on specific areas of real estate. Other courses include the Reciprocal Broker’s License Course and the Reciprocal Salesperson’s License Course.
“Roberts Brothers also stresses the importance of education, so we teach our agents specific training we call Business Building,” Blum said. “This series of classes goes beyond what is state mandated. Our Business-Building classes are getting down to actually “how to do things”, we even go out and measure a house and do certain other things that, as an agent, you should do properly. How to do some of the advertising and what to do in staging a house or growing listings are some other topics.”
Roberts Brothers has been around since 1946 and is in the third generation of family members. Currently, 259 agents work for the company. For more information and how to sign up for classes visit The Academy for Real Estate online. or visit its page on the OBA Community Website.
