Youth Apprentice Program Baldwin County

March 7, 2019 - Foley, AL - (OBA®) - With a historically low unemployment rate local Baldwin County businesses are quickly signing up to participate in the Youth Apprenticeship (YA) program that is set to launch April of 2019. The South Baldwin Chamber Gateway Initiative began this program with the hope to establish local talent and a desirable workforce while enabling and helping the youth in the community.

Through this paid apprenticeship program students will be offered a mentor provided by these local businesses to guide them through the training process in these tourism and hospitality jobs.

By working side by side with the student, these businesses can target needs that will allow both the student and mentor to grow. The mentor can mold and shape young talent that will hopefully one day turn in to a career in for the student. Over twenty-four local businesses have already signed up to be a part of this growing program.

These businesses include:

  • A&R Hospitality
  • Cactus Cantina
  • Chick Fil A
