January 29, 2020 – Orange Beach, AL – (OBA®) – Destry Wayne Roach, from Orange Beach, was sentenced to 180 days in October 2018 by the Orange Beach Municipal Court for leaving the scene of an accident.

Roach, who has an extensive drug history, was placed on furlough and sentenced to a rehab facility in Mississippi back in December of 2018. Several days later, Roach escaped the rehab facility and violated terms ordered previously by the court. A warrant for escape was issued and Roach was considered a flight risk.

On Jan. 29, Roach was apprehended by Orange Beach Investigators after conducting surveillance on a local residence. Investigators made contact with Destry and eluded police on foot. Roach was apprehended and arrested without further incident.

After Roach was in custody, it was discovered he removed his ankle monitor that was issued by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Community Corrections Division.

“We are thankful that Roach is back in custody and no one was injured as a result of his arrest,” OBPD said in a release on his capture.

Roach currently resides in the Orange Beach Correctional Facility and will later be transported to the Baldwin County Jail in Bay Minette.
