Stephen and Vivian Hanich of Helping Hands Ministry recognized

January 11, 2020 - Orange Beach, AL - (OBA®) - At the Orange Beach City Council meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020 Stephen and Vivian Hanich were presented the Orange Beach Mayor’s Distinguished Service Award for Helping Hands Ministry from Mayor Tony Kennon. Helping Hands Ministry served and delivered 599 meals on Christmas Day. 

It was Steven and Vivian Hanich’s 12th year organizing the event, with support from the City of Orange Beach and sponsors such as Swift Supply, J&M Tackle, Publix and volunteers from First Baptist Church Gulf Shores.

Volunteers delivered 271 full meals to the jails in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores, local police departments, the Foley Beach Express toll booth, local fire departments, workers at local convenience stores, movie theaters, security guard gates and anybody else they thought would appreciate the kindness.

In addition, over 300 people enjoyed Christmas dinner at the Orange Beach Community Center.
