Foley to Debate New Developments, Zoning Change

Foley, Ala. – (OBA) – The Foley Planning Commission will be in a work session on April 10 and a regular session on April 17 both at 4 p.m. in council chambers at city hall. During the meeting, the commission will discuss:

 

A request to move a lot line in the Eliza Carson Subdivision located south of Sunflower Avenue and west of South McKenzie Street. There are four lots on 1.17 acres in block B. Staff will recommend approval.

 

Approving a minor subdivision for Sable Subdivision located east of County Road 65 and North of County Road 12 in Foley’s planning jurisdiction. The property is 3.94 acres and two lots and staff will recommend approval.

 

A public hearing on a request for approval of Aster Brook subdivision located north of Cater Lee Way and west of Dale Lane, consisting of 28.59 acres and 39 lots. Staff will recommend approval.

 

A text amendment to the zoning ordinance regarding regulations on the construction of utility poles “to provide intent that utility providers must comply with municipal ordinance and regulations on the subject matter of utilities.” This item will be discussed in the work session only.

 

A request by developer Jim Brown to add commercial buildings along the new extension of South Juniper Street which extends south to curve back west and connection with State Route 59 south of Texas Roadhouse.

A handful of streets or intersections will get new or upgraded street lights. Traffic improvements will include adding four-way stops at three intersections on Alston Street
