About Safe Harbor Animal Coalition
Trap-Neuter-Return or “TNR” is the humane, effective approach for controlling free-roaming community cats. It is exactly what it sounds like: Cats are humanely trapped and taken to a veterinarian to be neutered and vaccinated. After recovery, the cats are returned or released to their colony outdoors. Kittens and tame stray cats who are friendly and socialized to people may be adopted into homes instead of being released back outdoors. TNR improves the lives of free-roaming cats, decreases nuisance behaviors, and decreases the size of cat colonies over time.
S.H.A.C. takes care of the spay/neuter, vaccines, flea treatment and deworming for the cats. We also loan you traps and give you all the training you need for TNR success. But beware — trapping can be a ton of fun and highly addictive!
Do you have unowned cats or kittens in your community who need care? S.H.A.C. can help you help them!
