Orange Beach announces 2022 Lifeguard of the Year

Forrest Rogers won the award on a vote by co-workers

Forrest Rogers was named the Orange Beach, Alabama, Lifeguard of the Year for 2022.

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – The city of Orange Beach recently congratulated Forrest Rogers as the 2022 Lifeguard of the Year.


This award was voted on by his Orange Beach Surf Rescue lifeguard peers and it was a landslide vote.


“Forrest is a unique person who never seems to have a “bad day” and is a sponge for knowledge,” a release from the city said. “Join us in congratulating this young man in all his accomplishments and hard work by going to the Orange Beach Surf Rescue Facebook page.


The glass award was made by the city's own Hot Shop artist Kerry Parks.

Fort Morgan Land Donation Expands Coastal Protection

Thanks to a donation from the Alabama Coastal Heritage Trust, the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) will permanently preserve 13 ecologically sensitive lots, safeguarding critical habitats from future development.
