Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – The Orange Beach Garden Club hosted its 37th Annual Game Day fundraiser, an event that brings the community together for a day of fun and philanthropy each year. Under the leadership of 2025 Game Day Chair, Councilwoman Annette Mitchell, this year’s event was a resounding success.
Councilwoman Mitchell stated, "The true success of this event lies in the dedication and teamwork of our subcommittee chairs. Their seamless coordination, unwavering commitment to our mission, and passion for serving the community are truly inspiring. Their hard work and dedication have once again delivered outstanding results."
The Game Day Committee recently met to review this year's accomplishments and begin planning for next year’s event. The Club extends its heartfelt appreciation to the 300+ individuals who purchased event tickets, as well as raffle tickets. Additionally, the support from island businesses who donated raffle items played a crucial role in the fundraiser’s success.
The funds raised from Game Day directly support vital city services and local initiatives, including the Orange Beach Wildlife Center, Orange Beach Fire & Rescue ambulance service, the Orange Beach Police Department Benevolent Fund, Orange Beach Arbor Day, and college scholarships for seniors at Orange Beach High School. These funds also allow the Garden Club to spearhead various community projects such as environmental education programs in Orange Beach schools, workdays and patriotic holiday flag placements at the Orange Beach Cemetery, the "Light Up Orange Beach" Christmas decorating contest, Christmas caroling and cookies at the Orange Beach Museum, and the maintenance of the Orange Beach Butterfly Garden.
The Orange Beach Garden Club meets monthly for luncheons featuring informative speakers at the Orange Beach Community Center. Citizens are encouraged to consider joining and becoming part of an organization dedicated to civic and environmental responsibility. As a federated national garden club, its mission is to promote the love of gardening, floral design, and environmental stewardship.
