Orange Beach, Ala. - (OBA) - Last week, the United States Police Canine Association (USPCA) Regionals saw an outstanding performance from local K9 teams. Officer Giles and K9 Sadie, along with Officer Hobbs and K9 Magnum, competed against 50 K9 handlers from Florida, Alabama, and Georgia.
Officer Giles and Officer Hobbs joined forces to compete as a team, finishing first in the Narcotics category. K9 Sadie and Officer Giles placed first in the Cars and Rooms categories, achieving perfect scores of 100 out of a possible 100 points in each. Their flawless performance earned them first place overall, with a total score of 200 out of 200 possible points.
Officer Hobbs and K9 Magnum also demonstrated remarkable skills, placing third in Rooms and fourth overall. Their scores were just shy of perfection, with 99.67 out of 100 points in Rooms and 99.17 out of 100 in Cars. The duo's total score was 198.84 out of 200 possible points.
Together, the two teams achieved a combined score of 398.84 out of 400, showcasing their exceptional abilities and dedication. Both K9s and their handlers have made their community incredibly proud.
Following their victory at the Regionals, Officer Giles and K9 Sadie will advance to the USPCA Nationals to compete against other talented teams from across the country. The USPCA Nationals will be held for the first time in Foley September 24th-29th and will be hosted by the Foley Police Department.
