The remodeled front entrance of Rouses Market in Orange Beach, Alabama.
(OBA®) – Remodeling work on the Rouses Market Orange Beach store is almost complete and store officials are planning a reopening on Wednesday, May 20.

In the meantime, both the Orange Beach location and the Rouses Market in Gulf Shores are looking to fill vital job vacancies to bring both stores up to full staffing levels.

To that end the Orange Beach store will have a jobs fair on May 14 and then it will move to Gulf Shores on May 15 from 8 a.m-4 p.m. each day.

“We’re needing about a total of 30 people,” Alabama Rouses Market District Manager Kenneth Jones said. “We’re hiring for all positions. We’re experiencing a little bit of difficulty. We’ve got a couple of job fairs set up and we’re getting some hits but not as many as we’d like right now. We do have at Rouses.com a place to apply and we also have on-the-site hiring at both the stores, at Gulf Shores and the Orange Beach, Alabama stores. We’ll have people set up in the stores in the café area.”

Rouses Markets in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores, Alabama have crawfish daily from 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

Jones said the beach job market is always tight but he hopes Rouses can offer a little something extra to get good candidates and hires.

“We have a wide range of positions available,” Jones said. “Our pay goes up, depending on the type of position, we pay up to $20 an hour in some key positions. We also have some salary positions, salary management positions open. We’re just looking for great people to join our great team. We have great benefits, 401K, paid vacation. We have a special summertime incentive program for temporary people for the summer. We’re also very competitive with pay on average with the rest of the market.”

With the new remodel work coming to a close, Jones is looking forward to a festive day to show off the improvements.

“It will be completed on May 19 and we’ll be having our re-grand opening on May 20,” Jones said.

One of the new features up and running is a Mongolian grill serving up teriyaki chicken, beef or shrimp with veggies and rice or noodles. Other dishes are available as well like Orange chicken.

“We’re doing really, really good with it and it’s a great product,” Jones said.
