In 1959, Saunders Engine & Equipment Company, Inc., was founded in Mobile, AL, by Andrew Saunders, Sr. From the beginning, Mr. Saunders established customer service as the primary responsibility of the company. He believed that if you "did a man a good job", that he would call you back. Today, the Saunders family is still a big part of the company. Members of the second and third generation represent the majority of company ownership and are currently active in management. The ethic of our founder also lives on in our skilled craftsmen and technicians, many of whom are long term Saunders' employees.
It is a trademark of Saunders Yachtworks that we are willing to take on complex tasks in challenging circumstances. We are always seeking ways to perform, not excuses why something can't be done. Our customers have gotten used to the fact that we will work with them to meet their goals even when other companies have turned them away. Additionally, we will travel anywhere, at anytime to meet our customers' needs.
In January, 2009, Saunders Yachtworks expanded operations to Gulf Shores, AL, with the opening of the new Corporate Headquarters at Mile 155.5 of the Intracoastal Waterway. The new 15,000 sq. ft. building includes a new customer service area, administrative offices, mechanical shop and parts warehouse.
