Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) –   The Baldwin Pops Orchestra, known for their diverse repertoire of classical, contemporary, and patriotic music, has been a staple of Baldwin County’s cultural scene for over two decades. Under the direction of conductor Wayne Fillingim, the group features talented musicians from across the region, dedicated to making live orchestra music accessible to all.


The Baldwin Pops Orchestra will be bringing their music to Orange Beach this weekend. The symphonic group will perform a free concert at the Orange Beach Performing Arts Center on Saturday, March 8th, promising an evening of beautiful orchestra music.


This concert will showcase an engaging program that appeals to audiences of all ages. Attendees can expect a mix of familiar classics, lively marches, and perhaps even a few surprises. This concert is part of the John Allen Memorial Scholarship Concert Series and will include a special tribute to two charter members of the Baldwin Pops who recently passed away: Richard Holk and Paul Perfect.


Richard Holk was a long-time member of the saxophone section and a beloved part of the Baldwin Pops family. More than just a talented musician, he was known for his kindness and dedication to the orchestra. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.


Paul Perfect played with the Baldwin Pops until the age of 90, a testament to his passion for music and commitment to the group.


As part of their mission, the Baldwin Pops frequently provide free concerts across Baldwin County, giving residents and visitors the chance to enjoy high-quality orchestral music without the barriers of ticket costs. A Brief History of the Baldwin Pops

Founded in May 1997, the Baldwin Pops Orchestra was established with the goal of bringing live orchestral performances to communities throughout Baldwin County. The ensemble is made up of volunteer musicians from diverse backgrounds, all united by their passion for music. Over the years, the Baldwin Pops have gained a loyal following and have become an integral part of the region’s arts and cultural scene, performing in parks, community centers, and concert halls to bring music to the public free of charge.
