Foley, Ala. – (OBA) – Foley's Midday Melodies, a free weekly music series held at Heritage Park, is extending its schedule by two weeks into April due to popular demand. The series, which featured performances each Wednesday in March, attracted large lunchtime crowds. Organizers decided to continue the concerts with two additional performances into April.
Midday Melodies takes place between 11am and 2pm near the Centennial Clock Tower in Foley's Heritage Park.
In March, musical performances included concerts by Zach Chavers, Strictly Rivers, Tennessee Tim and Doug Drake and the Wiley Pete Duo.
The additional April performances aim to provide more opportunities for the community to enjoy local musical talent during lunchtime. Josh Chavers will perform on April 2nd. A performer for the April 9 event will be announced.
Participants can bring picnic blankets or lawn chairs. Dining options are available from any of Foley’s many nearby downtown restaurants. Concessions are also available from the Masonic Lodge or spectators can bring and enjoy their own lunches.
Free parking is available around the perimeter of the park located at 104 N. McKenzie Street, just across the pedestrian bridge on Alabama 59. Anyone wanting more information can visit the Visit Foley Facebook page or call the city of Foley at 251-943-1200.
