Dauphin Island, Ala. – (OBA) – Officials from the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) and the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) will host a public meeting about the Dauphin Island West End Beach Renourishment Project. The meeting will take place on March 6 at 6 p.m. at the Dauphin Island Community Center.
The project, proposed by the Town of Dauphin Island, aims to restore and maintain the shoreline along the island’s west end. It follows guidelines outlined in Alabama state law, including Act No. 2000-676 and other regulations under the Alabama Code.
Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to attend and provide feedback on the proposal. A copy of the pending application is available for public review on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at several locations, including Dauphin Island Town Hall, ADEM’s Coastal Office in Mobile, and ADCNR’s State Lands Division Coastal Office in Spanish Fort.
