Summerdale, Ala. – (OBA) – A tragic accident occurred on the afternoon of Friday, November 24, resulting in the death of a Gulf Shores resident, Cameron Anthony Onjukka. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) confirmed that the incident involved two vehicles and took place on Baldwin County Road 9, about five miles south of Summerdale, Baldwin County.
Cameron A. Onjukka, 41, was fatally injured in a head-on collision while driving his 2008 Toyota Avalon. The other vehicle involved was a 2018 Hyundai Elantra, driven by a 17-year-old youth from Mobile. The crash reportedly occurred shortly before 5 p.m.
Officials reported that Onjukka was pronounced dead at the scene. The 17-year-old driver and a passenger from the Elantra, identified as 20-year-old Macy E. Bishop from Summerdale, sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's Highway Patrol Division is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident to determine the exact cause and any contributing factors.
