Foley, Ala. – (OBA) – The Foley municipal park in Aaronville is set to receive significant upgrades, including the installation of new restroom facilities. The Foley City Council has green lit a capital project aimed at enhancing the park's amenities.
Jeff Lee, the Director of Parks and Recreation in Foley, highlighted the project's focus on replacing the existing restroom facilities with a modern, prefabricated CXD building. The process of acquiring and installing the new structure is expected to take approximately six months.
The new restrooms in the park will be fully accessible, complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act. They are also expected to need fewer repairs and less maintenance.
Mayor Ralph Hellmich emphasized the broader benefits of such upgrades. Replacing older facilities with prefabricated structures across various parks allows the city to standardize its services and maintenance procedures, enhancing overall efficiency.
The project will replace the existing restroom facilities with a new building equipped with modern amenities like steel doors, lavatories, water closets, a water heater, hand dryers, floor drains, exhaust fans, stainless-steel mirrors, and baby changing stations.
