Foley Event to Benefit Hungry Children in South Alabama

Foley, Ala. – (OBA) – In South Alabama, Secret Meals For Hungry Children serves around 480 children across 12 elementary schools. All funds raised from this event will go towards preparing weekend food packs for children living in food-insecure households. Nicole Fulgham, the Community Involvement Coordinator at Alabama Credit Union, emphasizes the importance of this event for the community.


The Secret Meals For Hungry Children program was started in 2008 to help reduce weekend hunger for children in Alabama and Northwest Florida. The program discreetly places food packs in children's backpacks. Each pack contains two breakfasts, two lunches, and two snacks, ensuring children have enough to eat over the weekend.


On Saturday, August 24, Alabama Credit Union and Coldwell Banker Coastal Realty will host the Strike Out Hunger event to benefit Secret Meals For Hungry Children. The event will take place at Gulf Bowl from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Guests are invited to form teams of eight to participate. 


Businesses can sponsor the event by purchasing a bowling lane. There will also be an online auction from August 16-23 through Charity Auctions Today.
