Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – Gulf Shores Golf Club in Alabama has appointed Grant Cole as its new head superintendent. Cole, a Class A Superintendent, previously led Braelinn Golf Club in Peachtree City, Georgia, and has extensive experience in course restoration and southeastern agronomic practices.

Tim Dunlap, founder of Regent Golf Partners and new owner of Gulf Shores Golf Club, tasked Cole with revitalizing the 18-hole resort facility. Dunlap, who also owns The Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, South Carolina, acquired Gulf Shores Golf Club in January 2025 from the family of the late Larry Tomlinson Jr. of Fairhope, Alabama.

The club, established in 1964 as Gulf Shores Country Club, is the oldest golf course in Baldwin County's resort town. Under Dunlap's ownership, numerous improvements have already been made. Plans are underway to develop a residential neighborhood adjacent to the 1st, 7th, and 9th holes in the coming months.

Dunlap emphasized the club's commitment to continuous improvement, stating that while initial changes have been significant, the focus will shift to steady, incremental enhancements as the growing season progresses. Cole expressed enthusiasm about his new role, highlighting the potential of the course and the supportive ownership.
