NAS Pensacola, Fla. - (OBA) - Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola is set to open its doors to the public for a limited time on May 4-7 and May 11-14. During these days, access to the air station will be granted from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through the West Gate only, situated at the southern end of Blue Angel Parkway.
Visitors aged 18 and older who are U.S. citizens or nationals must present a Real ID or passport to enter the air station. The Department of Defense (DoD) and the Navy mandate that identification cards for base access comply with the Real ID Act of 2005. A star on the upper right corner of the card signifies Real ID-compliant identification.
Alternatively, visitors can present a combination of an original or certified true copy of a birth certificate with a raised seal, a social security card, and a non-Real ID-compliant driver's license issued by a state, territory, possession, or the District of Columbia, as long as all documents bear the same name or a former name documented on acceptable name change documentation such as a court order, marriage certificate, or divorce decree. However, foreign nationals will not be granted access.
Non-DoD identification card holders with vehicles towing trailers will also be denied entry to the air station. Public access will be contingent on available parking at the National Naval Aviation Museum (NNAM) and Pensacola Lighthouse. Once parking is at capacity, public access will be temporarily suspended until more spaces open up. Temporary traffic control points will be established on base to restrict public access to other areas of the installation.
