Local business continues to invest in education

The Wharf Named Diamond Sponsor for Orange Beach Schools

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – Orange Beach City Schools announced that The Wharf has joined as a Diamond Sponsor for the 2025–2026 school year.


The announcement was made in partnership with the Mako Academics, Arts, and Athletics Club, also known as MAAAC.


The Wharf has been involved with MAAAC since its founding in 2019, showing steady support for local education and community programs.


Diamond is the highest sponsorship level in the district’s program, offering strong advertising benefits and wide-reaching student support.


This sponsorship helps fund academic, arts, and athletics programs across all Orange Beach schools, benefitting every student.


“We are excited to welcome The Wharf,” said Superintendent Randy Wilkes. “Their support continues to create opportunities for our students.”


The Wharf’s general manager, Jade Hubbard, said the company is proud to support local education and the future of the community.

Two Killed in Foley Scooter Crash on County Road 65

Foley, Ala. – (OBA) – On April 13, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers responded to a collision on County Road 65, south of Airport Road in Foley, involving a pickup truck and an electric scooter. A preliminary investigation determined that a 2006 Chevy Colorado pickup truck fatally struck two individuals who were riding the scooter.
