Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – Orange Beach Public Works started clearing the site for its new Veteran's Memorial at the City’s Municipal Complex on Monday, March 17, 2025. The existing digital monument sign in front of Community Development is being removed as part of the preparation.
The project, approved by the City Council on March 11, 2025, was awarded to Badger Building, Inc. for $561,685.

The memorial, designed by McCollough Architecture, will feature a 30-by-50-foot American flag on a 110-foot pole. It will also include eight other flags representing various military branches and first responders.
An inscription on the monument will read, "LAND OF THE FREE BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE - FREEDOM IS NOT FREE." The project is expected to be completed by early fall, weather permitting.
A new monument sign will be installed in front of City Hall later this spring. This sign will showcase a new design that will be implemented throughout Orange Beach on welcome and way finding signs.
