Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – A historic winter storm has brought freezing temperatures and hazardous driving conditions, prompting the closure of city offices on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025. All recreational activities are also canceled due to safety concerns.
Essential city services, including first responders and Public Works, will continue to operate as usual. City officials expressed gratitude to employees working through the storm to maintain safety.
Weather permitting, city offices and recreational activities are expected to resume normal operations on Friday if road conditions improve. Residents are advised to monitor updates regarding reopening plans.
Trash and recycling collection by Republic Services will not occur on Thursday. Thursday routes are currently planned for Friday, with Friday routes rescheduled for Saturday. However, these plans may change depending on road conditions.
City officials encourage residents to stay safe, avoid unnecessary travel, and check for updates on services and schedules.
