Orange Beach, Alabama, won its third consecutive softball championship on May 20.

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – In three years of competitive softball at the high school level, Orange Beach has ended all three seasons the same way. As state champions.

Orange Beach defeated Houston Academy 5-0 on May 20 at Jacksonville University’s softball stadium to complete a 4-0 state tournament run to claim the Class 4A state title. Sophomore pitcher K.J. Favors allowed a hit to the first batter but then allowed only two Houston Academy batters to reach first base the rest of the game. Her one-hit shutout earned her the Class 4A MVP. Also making the all-tournament team were freshman Teagan Revette and eighth-grader L.C. Robbins.

The school first entered competition as a Class 2A school for the 2020-21 season and won the title two years straight in Class 2A. After reclassification the school moved up to 4A based on student population and won again in that classification. Houston Academy won the Class 3A state championship last year.
