Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – The time to submit an application for the Orange Beach Fire Rescue’s Intern Firefighter training program comes to a close on June 16th. The training will start September 16, 2024. This 13-week course allows participants to earn Firefighter I and II certifications from the Alabama Fire College and gain practical firefighting experience.
The training program aims to prepare recent high school graduates and other interested individuals for a career in fire service. Participants will work alongside professional firefighters, gaining valuable skills and experience. The program includes a $10,000 annual stipend and additional certifications, such as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Advanced EMT.
Applications are open from May 15 to June 16, 2024. Interested candidates must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and pass the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT).
