Event promotes sustainability and community beautification

City of Orange Beach Arbor Day Tree Give Away 2025

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – In celebration of Arbor Day, the City of Orange Beach will host its annual tree giveaway on Saturday, February 22, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. This community-driven event provides residents with an opportunity to enhance their landscapes with various trees while promoting environmental sustainability and the city’s natural beauty. The giveaway will take place in front of the Orange Beach Community Development building, located at 4101 Orange Beach Blvd. 


As part of the city’s ongoing efforts to support green initiatives, this event encourages residents to plant trees that will contribute to the area’s ecosystem, provide shade, and enhance overall air quality for years to come.


The potted trees that will be given away to residents will include:


Native hardwood trees

  • Bald Cypress
  • Live Oak
  • Nellie Holly
  • Summer red maple
  • Hollywood juniper


Citrus trees (limited quantity)

  • Key lime
  • Meyer lemon
  • Satsuma orange


There will be a limited quantity per resident, which is defined as those who live within the city limits of Orange Beach.

Shoppers can collect stamps on their bingo cards as they explore downtown, with a completed card earning them a chance to win a $200 prize package.

Operation Jamaican Knights Fifth Suspect Arrested After Chase Through Gulf Shores

Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – The FBI arrested a fifth suspect in connection to a fraudulent lottery scam. Multiple agencies have been working to take suspects into custody since last Friday, when four arrests were made as part of Operation Jamaican Knights.

Robertsdale, Ala. – (OBA) – The Baldwin County real estate market saw a decline in sales last month, but sellers remain confident as new listings outpaced last year’s numbers. According to the Baldwin REALTORS® Multiple Listing Service (MLS), January 2025 saw 15 fewer sales than the same month in 2024. However, 26 more properties were listed for sale than the previous year.
