Orange Beach to Host Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Day for Residents

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – Orange Beach residents can safely dispose of hazardous household waste through a free community collection event. The Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Day aims to promote proper waste disposal and environmental responsibility, helping to keep the city clean and safe.


The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 8 AM to 12 PM at the Wind & Water Learning Center, located at 26233 Canal Road, Orange Beach, AL. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this convenient drop-off service to safely discard hazardous materials.


The following items will be accepted:

  • Tires
  • Paint
  • Cooking oil/grease
  • Batteries


Improper disposal of these materials can pose environmental risks, contaminating local water sources and harming wildlife. This event provides a responsible way for residents to remove hazardous waste from their homes while contributing to the well-being of the community.


Sponsored by the City of Orange Beach, the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM), and the Wind & Water Learning Center, this event helps ensure hazardous waste is handled and processed correctly, reducing its potential impact on the environment.

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – Residents along the northern Gulf Coast, including Orange Beach, may have the unique opportunity to witness a rare sight in the sky this evening as SpaceX's Crew Dragon capsule makes its fiery return to Earth. The spacecraft, carrying NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, along with NASA astronaut Nick Hague and Roscosmos cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov, is expected to splash down in the Gulf south of Tallahassee at approximately 5:57 p.m. Eastern Time (4:57 p.m. Central Time).
