Seaside Neighborhood School Band to Open for Velcro Pygmies at The Hangout

Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – The Seaside Neighborhood School Performance Band will take the stage at The Hangout in Gulf Shores, opening for the well-known rock group The Velcro Pygmies. The performance marks a major milestone for the student musicians as they showcase their talent at a popular live music venue.


The event is scheduled for Thursday, March 13, 2025, with the student band set to begin their performance at 6:00 PM. The Hangout, located at 101 E Beach Blvd, is a well-known destination for concerts and community events, drawing both locals and tourists.


Led by Baulder Saunders, the Seaside Neighborhood School Performance Band consists of dedicated young musicians who have worked hard to earn this opportunity. Their selection to open for The Velcro Pygmies highlights the strength of the school's music education program and the students' commitment to their craft.


The Velcro Pygmies are known for their high-energy performances and love for 80s rock. Their shows have drawn enthusiastic crowds across the Southeast, and their return to The Hangout promises an exciting night for all in attendance.

Gulf Shores 2025 Lifeguards

Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – After completing the 2025 Spring United States Lifesaving Association (USLA) Academy, Gulf Shores Beach Rescue Lifeguards went back on official duty this past weekend. During the off-season, lifeguards underwent rigorous training both in the classroom and in the water. New recruits completed an intensive 48-hour USLA training course, while returning lifeguards refreshed their skills with a 16-hour refresher course—all while training in the Gulf and local pools.
