Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – Baldwin County schools are getting ready for a healthy event on May 1st, 2024. It's the fourth year for the Spring Walk and Roll to School Day. This day is all about showing the benefits of walking and biking to school. It helps make the roads safer for kids and reduces traffic. Plus, it's great for the earth and gets kids moving.
On this day, students, parents, teachers, and others will walk to school. This event is part of a big effort to make it easier and safer for students to walk or bike to their schools. The Baldwin County Safe Routes to School Coalition is behind this. They work with many groups, like the Baldwin County Trailblazers and the Eastern Shore Metropolitan Planning Organization.
Schools to join Spring Walk to School Day: Daphne Elementary, Bay Minette Elementary, Summerdale School, Florence B. Mathis Elementary, Fairhope West Elementary, Orange Beach Elementary, Gulf Shores City Schools, and St. Patrick Catholic School.
Individual schools will have their own designated start times and locations. For details, please
refer to the event information provided by each participating school.
