Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – The Orange Beach Planning Commission has a light agenda for its meetings on Jan. 8 with only two items up for discussion and one of those was deferred from the Dec. 11 meeting.
The commission will meet in a work session at 3 p.m. with the regular session starting at 4 p.m. both in council chambers in city hall.
Staff is seeking to add a zoning text amendment addressing the storage of vehicles, boats, trailers, recreation vehicles, or other materials on vacant residential lots. Contractors have been using the lots as lay-down yards and storage of other construction materials, including fuel tanks.
The other item is a request for a site plan approval for builder Mark Keel to build a 40-by-60 pole barn or open structure on a lot east of where Keel owns storage units at 27103 Canal Road. In recent weeks, the lot has been cleared.
