From the annual Alabama Seafood Cook-Off to high-profile concerts by country legends Alabama and rising star Cole Swindell, as well as the thrilling Orange Beach Billfish Classic tournament, this coastal community is set to come alive with a diverse array of activities throughout the month.

The 9th Annual Alabama Seafood Cook-Off - May 6

Seafood lovers will gather on May 6 from 6 PM to 8 PM for the 9th Annual Alabama Seafood Cook-Off. This event showcases the best of local seafood cuisine, with chefs competing to impress both judges and attendees with their culinary creations.


Alabama at The Wharf - May 11

Legendary country band Alabama will take the stage at The Wharf Amphitheater on May 11 at 7 PM. This concert promises to be a memorable event, featuring classic hits and new favorites.


STAIND at The Wharf - May 14

Rock enthusiasts have something to look forward to as STAIND performs at the Amphitheater at 6 PM on May 14. Known for their intense and emotional music, STAIND's return to the stage is highly anticipated by fans.


Orange Beach Billfish Classic - May 17-18

The competitive spirit continues with the Orange Beach Billfish Classic on May 17-18. This prestigious fishing tournament attracts anglers from all over, competing for the biggest catch and the thrill of the chase.


Cole Swindell at The Wharf - May 25

Country music star Cole Swindell will perform at The Wharf Amphitheater on May 25 at 7 PM. Swindell’s performance is expected to draw a large crowd, as fans look forward to hearing his popular tracks live.


Hot Wharf Summer Nightly Events - Starting May 27

Beginning May 27, The Wharf will host nightly events as part of the Hot Wharf Summer series. These events are designed to entertain families and visitors throughout the summer with various activities and performances.

Orange Beach Honors Longtime Coach David McLain at During Opening Day Celebrations

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – The City of Orange Beach kicked off its 2025 Baseball and Softball Season with a heartfelt tribute to longtime volunteer coach, David McLain. During the opening ceremony, Mayor Tony Kennon and the City Council surprised Coach McLain by dedicating Field 5 in his honor. Unaware of the plan, McLain read aloud the plaque's inscription at the center of Field 5, realizing the field now bears his name. He then threw the ceremonial first pitch, marking the official start of the season.

While these slow-moving, plant-eating sea cows are often associated with Florida’s springs and lagoons, they also make their way west during the warmer months, becoming seasonal visitors to the Alabama Gulf Coast.
