Foley, Ala. – (OBA) – August 17th, or 8/11, is a reminder for home builders, contractors, and homeowners to call Alabama 811 before digging. This helps avoid damaging underground utilities and the costly repairs that can follow.
This year, Riviera Utilities, Daphne Utilities, and the cities of Foley, Daphne, Fairhope, and Spanish Fort are raising awareness. They are partnering to educate residents about the importance of contacting Alabama 811 before digging.
From August 8 to August 17, city buildings and landmarks will be lit up in green, or “Glowing Green”. This aims to catch the attention of both locals and visitors. A quick call to Alabama 811 and a visit from a line locator can save time, money, and ensure safety.
