Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – Gulf Shores High School is preparing for its annual Farm to Table event, a program that connects students with local agriculture and supports fresh, healthy meals in the school cafeteria.
The event will take place on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot behind the school, next to the greenhouse.
Farm to Table is planned and hosted by students in Culinary, Hospitality and Tourism, and Event Planning classes.
The goal is to promote sustainability, support local farmers, and give students hands-on learning opportunities.
Community members are invited to attend, meet the students and farmers, and learn how the program benefits both education and local food systems.
The event highlights the school’s effort to bring more fresh, locally grown produce into daily school meals.
Programs like this also support Alabama’s Farm to School goals, which aim to boost student health and help local farms.
