Gulf Shores Dolphins Championship Trophy

Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – The Gulf Shores High School Dolphins Football Team have had a remarkable year. After being undefeated during the regular season, they continued their march through the playoffs and made it to the Championship Game, where they defeated last year's winner, Ramsay. Now they have brought the "Blue Map" 5A Football Championship Trophy home to Gulf Shores for the first time in school history.


So the City of Gulf Shores is going to celebrate the event at LuLu's, on today (Wednesday) at 5:30PM. The City and LuLu's are inviting everyone to this free event to show their appreciation to the team. Just in case you don't know, LuLu's is located at 200 E 25th Ave, Gulf Shores, AL,


The Dolphin Players, Coaches and the trophy have been making the rounds thanking those who supported the team all year long, showing they are Champions off the field as well!

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – The Blessing of the Fleet is a centuries-old tradition that began in Mediterranean fishing communities, where local clergy would bless fishing vessels to ensure a safe and bountiful season. This practice was brought to the United States by Catholic immigrants and has been embraced by various coastal communities. One of the earliest recorded Blessing of the Fleet ceremonies in the U.S. took place in Biloxi, Mississippi, in 1929.
