Foley, Ala. – (OBA) – On Wednesday, June 19, 2024, around 11:00 PM, Foley Police responded to a stabbing on US Highway 98. Officers found that a fight between long-time partners escalated. Shau Yanite Pickens, 43, stabbed her boyfriend with a kitchen knife.
The victim was taken to South Baldwin Regional Medical Center and later flown to Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. He was treated for a non-life-threatening abdominal wound.
Police arrested Pickens based on evidence and charged her with Domestic Violence in the 2nd Degree, a felony. She is currently in Foley City Jail awaiting transport to Baldwin County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing, and police have not ruled out elements of self-defense. The Foley Police Department emphasizes its commitment to addressing domestic violence issues.
