Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – Gulf Coast residents needing a passport will have a special chance to apply at a one-day Passport Fair hosted by the Gulf Shores Post Office. The event will provide assistance with the application process and ensure residents have the required documents.

The event will take place this Saturday, March 15th, from 9am until 1pm. The Gulf Shores Post Office is located at 2149 W. 1st Street, Gulf Shores, AL 36542.

To apply, residents must bring proof of American citizenship. Acceptable documents include a certified birth certificate from a city, county, or state, a naturalization certificate, a consular report of birth abroad, a certificate of citizenship, or a previous U.S. passport. Hospital-issued birth certificates are not valid.

Applicants must also bring a photocopy of their citizenship document. If the document has information on both sides, a copy of the front and back is required. This helps speed up processing and ensures all necessary paperwork is included.

In addition to proof of citizenship, applicants need valid identification. This can be a U.S. passport, a naturalization or citizenship certificate with a photo, a valid driver’s license, a government-issued employee ID, a military ID, or a current foreign passport. Temporary licenses and learner’s permits are not accepted.

Minors under 16 must appear in person with both parents. If one parent cannot attend, the absent parent must provide a notarized authorization form. This ensures the application meets all legal requirements.
