Orange Beach Library to Host Gifts of Grace Donation Event

Christian Service Center Collecting Donations for Elderly

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – The Christian Service Center in Gulf Shores is organizing the "Gifts of Grace" donation drive on Saturday, December 14, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Orange Beach Public Library, located at 26267 Canal Road. The event aims to collect essential items for the elderly community members served by the center.


Attendees who contribute donations will receive coffee and donuts, and will be entered into a raffle as a token of appreciation. The center has identified several high-need items, including…

  • Saltine Crackers
  • Cereal
  • Canned Soups
  • Individual Oatmeal Packets
  • Boxed Dinners
  • Jelly
  • Peanut Butter
  • Macaroni And Cheese
  • Plastic Shopping Bags

  • Toiletries
  • Toothbrushes
  • Toothpaste
  • Feminine Hygiene Products
  • Small Packages Of Laundry And Dishwashing Detergents
  • Disposable Diapers
  • Baby Wipes


Community members are encouraged to drop off these supplies at the library during the designated hours on December 14. The drive is being organized by Erica Tivet-Smith, broker and owner of Beyond the Sail Realty.


The Christian Service Center, an all-volunteer agency, has been assisting low-income families in Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and Fort Morgan since 1991. The center provides food and emergency financial aid for rent and utilities, aiming to offer a "hand up" rather than a "hand out" to those in need.

Gulf State Park to Close Trails for Prescribed Burn on Friday

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – Gulf State Park has announced the temporary closure of three trails on the Hugh Branyon Backcountry Trail to conduct a prescribed burn aimed at enhancing the park's ecosystem. The affected trails are Twin Bridges Trail, Rattlesnake Ridge Trail, and Hidden Lake Trail. These closures are necessary to ensure the safety of visitors and allow forestry teams to perform the burn efficiently.

Gulf Shores Implements Traffic Safety Measures Amid Pedestrian Bridge Work

Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – The City of Gulf Shores is actively monitoring and adjusting traffic patterns in the Gulf Pines neighborhood to ensure resident safety during the construction of a new pedestrian bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway. Recent traffic analyses indicate a 35% decrease in vehicles on East Canal Drive between 3rd and 4th Streets, with current daily traffic at approximately 8,800 vehicles. The average speed recorded in this area is 35 mph, below the posted limit of 45 mph. Additionally, about 60% of drivers are using the detour to East 22nd Avenue, while 40% opt for East 24th Street. Traffic counts on East 10th Street show typical neighborhood volumes, with a 97% compliance rate to speed limits.
Baldwin County Sees Rise in Home Prices and Listings in March 2025

Baldwin REALTORS® Multiple Listing Service (MLS) reported nearly 1,200 new listings added during the month, marking a 10% rise compared to March 2024. Total revenue from residential sales also surpassed the previous year's figures by approximately $6.5 million.

During a traffic stop in the 6900 block of Crimson Ridge Street, officers encountered the suspect and arrested him for trafficking cocaine.
