Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – The characters from Shrek will take the stage at the Orange Beach Performing Arts Center from January 30 to February 2, 2025, as part of the Expect Excellence Theater's production of Shrek the Musical.
Evening shows are scheduled for 7 p.m. on January 30 and 31, with 2 p.m. matinées on February 1 and 2.
Director Jacob Morris emphasized the musical’s uplifting message about embracing individuality, a theme that resonates with audiences of all ages. Cast member Kat Vittetoe highlighted the humor and relatability of the show, which celebrates diversity and self-acceptance.
The production, involving nearly 100 cast and crew members, features intricate sets, including a 10-foot animated dragon that breathes smoke. After three months of preparation, the team is eager to showcase their work.
