Tacky Jacks is Bringing Back its ‘Wacky Winter of Fun’ Classes in Orange Beach & Gulf Shores

Hands-on Habitat, Art al Fresco comprises a series of weekly lunchtime activities through February

Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – Tacky Jacks Gulf Shores and Orange Beach is set to kick off its 9th Annual Wacky Winter of Fun, an engaging series of weekly events designed to inspire creativity and connect the community with nature. Starting January 6, 2025, participants can join various hands-on art classes and educational nature sessions held at Tacky Jacks' scenic waterfront locations. Events will take place every Monday in Gulf Shores and every Tuesday in Orange Beach, continuing through February.


The Wacky Winter of Fun lineup includes Art al Fresco, a series of creative workshops led by regional artists, and Hands-on Habitat, an educational nature program presented in partnership with local wildlife organizations. Whether crafting upcycled jewelry, designing custom wreaths, or exploring Gulf Coast habitats, these activities offer something for all ages to enjoy.

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – The Blessing of the Fleet is a centuries-old tradition that began in Mediterranean fishing communities, where local clergy would bless fishing vessels to ensure a safe and bountiful season. This practice was brought to the United States by Catholic immigrants and has been embraced by various coastal communities. One of the earliest recorded Blessing of the Fleet ceremonies in the U.S. took place in Biloxi, Mississippi, in 1929.
