    How Mother's Day Became Official Holiday With Alabama's Help

    Happy Mother's Day! You might think that some nice, grateful men got together and created "Mother's Day." It was actually started by three fearless women with a noble cause during the time of the Civil War. The Holiday is now celebrated in over 40 countries. We thought on the meaningful holiday we should pay deep respect to our Mom's, and the three founders who wanted celebration for peace.
    Flood Alert for Orange Beach/Gulf Shores and the Surrounding Areas

    Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a warning for an increased risk of excessive rainfall from Monday morning through Tuesday morning. The forecast predicts widespread rainfall amounts ranging from 3 to 5 inches across the region, with the possibility of localized totals exceeding 6 inches, especially in the circled area.
    Baldwin County's April 2024 Housing Report Shows Varied Trends

    Robertsdale, Ala. – (OBA) – Baldwin County's real estate market showed a mix of trends in April 2024, according to the Baldwin REALTORS® Multiple Listing Service (MLS) report. While average sales prices increased in both the Traditional Residential and Resort/Island-based areas, closed sales decreased in both areas compared to April 2023.
    Gulf Shores High School Soccer #1 in State

    Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – The Gulf Shores High School boy's soccer team made history on Saturday, winning their first-ever state championship with a 5-0 victory over Elmore County in the AHSAA 5A finals. The Dolphins, led by head coach Danny Norton, capped off an impressive 23-6 season with the dominant performance at the John Hunt Soccer Complex in Huntsville.
    Orange Beach and Gulf Shores Host First C.A.K.E Day

    On May 11, Gulf Shores and Orange Beach will host the first-ever Coastal Alabama Kid Entrepreneurs Day, as organized by the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber. The event will feature elementary-aged students who have spent months learning about entrepreneurship. They've tackled topics such as branding, marketing, finance, and even how to set up their stands.

    Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – An extreme geomagnetic storm, classified as a G5 (the highest level), struck Earth last night. This powerful solar event triggered dazzling displays of the aurora borealis, or northern lights, across many parts of the southern United States and around the world.
    Some Orange Beach Residents Face Second Day of Power Outages

    Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – Some residents of Orange Beach and Ono Island are confronting another day without electricity, marking the second consecutive day of power disruptions in the area. The cause of this morning’s power outage remains unknown, leaving many locals seeking answers as they deal with living without power.
    Foley Beach Express Toll Bridge

    The Foley Beach Express is on its way to becoming a state highway following action by the Foley City Council. The council voted Monday, May 6, to transfer the city-owned section of the highway to the Alabama Department of Transportation.
    Firefighters Douse Flaming Golf Cart in Orange Beach

    Orange Beach firefighters’ quick response to a golf cart engulfed in flames at Ave Pub prevented the fire from spreading to a second cart parked in the next parking space. Upon arrival, the fire crew found the cart fully engulfed in flames.
    Beachside S'mores Bash Returns to Gulf Shores May 23rd

    The city of Gulf Shores will host "S'mores on the Shore" on Thursday, May 23, beginning at 6 p.m. at Gulf Place, located at 101 Gulf Shores Parkway. This event promises an evening of campfires, music, and free s’mores. Attendees can enjoy activities such as face painting and balloon artistry while relaxing on the public beach. Families are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs to enjoy the festivities.
