Foley, Ala. – (OBA) – The Baldwin County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) has announced the opening of a Safer Place shelter to provide warmth and safety as winter weather approaches. The shelter, located at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 506 N. Pine St., Foley, AL, will open Sunday, January 19, at 5:00 PM and remain available until Wednesday, January 22, at noon.
Residents and visitors seeking shelter are encouraged to bring essential items such as blankets, pillows, medications, and other necessities. For assistance, individuals can contact the shelter at 251-256-8202.
The Baldwin County EMA, in collaboration with Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD), has coordinated resources to support the community during this time. With winter conditions being uncommon in the region, officials are emphasizing safety and preparedness.
