Gulf Coast's first brewery celebrates 5 years

(OBA®) – Gulf Shores, AL – Come on over to Big Beach Brewing October 7-10 for a heck of a birthday party.


In four days, they will be tapping four beers, launching our first bottle release, and hosting four excellent bands including: Grayson Capps, Red Clay Strays, Crab Riot, & Jesse McCraw Trio.


The Gnarwhal food truck will be posted up the whole weekend to make sure to keep folks from going hungry and thirsty.


Music Oct. 7-10


  • Oct. 7: Crab Riot at 5:30 p.m.


  • Oct. 8: Red Stray Clays at 7 p.m.


  • Oct. 9: Grayson and Corky at 6 p.m.


  • Oct. 10: Jesse McGraw Trio at 4 p.m.


Big Beach's Halloween Party


It's getting spooky around here! Big Beach will be hosting its fifth annual Halloween party on Oct. 30th! There will be face painting, live music from East L.A. Fadeaway, and a small batch tapping of our Mexican Chocolate Cake Stout.


Oktoberfest steins for sale


Like true German beer lovers, Oktoberfest wouldn't be complete without steins for your Fest bier. They are only available in the taproom.

Foley to Begin Resurfacing Project on Hickory Street on Monday

Foley, Ala. – (OBA) – Hickory Street in Foley, Alabama, will close to traffic for about four weeks starting Monday, April 14. The closure affects the section between West Section Avenue and West Magnolia Avenue. Crews will work to repair damage caused by settlement around sewer lines.

Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – The days of sniffing out crime have come to an end for an nine-year-old K9 cop in Gulf Shores. K9 Darlin retired this week after eight years in service. During her time as a narcotic's detector, she helped sniff out 159 pounds of methamphetamine, 171 pounds of cocaine, 93.5 pounds of marijuana and 5.5 pounds of heroin.

The Foley City Council approved the purchase of a surplus bucket truck that the Street Department will use to trim tree limbs along city streets and on public property.

Gulf State Park to Close Trails for Prescribed Burn on Friday

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – Gulf State Park has announced the temporary closure of three trails on the Hugh Branyon Backcountry Trail to conduct a prescribed burn aimed at enhancing the park's ecosystem. The affected trails are Twin Bridges Trail, Rattlesnake Ridge Trail, and Hidden Lake Trail. These closures are necessary to ensure the safety of visitors and allow forestry teams to perform the burn efficiently.
