Business Seminars Planned for Baldwin County Area Entrepreneurs

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – Beginning one week from today, The University of Alabama Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will host a series of business seminars aimed at helping entrepreneurs and small business owners in Baldwin County and nearby areas. The seminars will run through April 10th and offer practical information and resources to support business growth in 2025 and beyond.


Each event is tailored to address specific business needs, from starting a new business to navigating the challenges of operating an existing one. Topics include business structure, funding opportunities, artificial intelligence tools, and operational strategies, providing participants with actionable guidance and access to helpful resources. These workshops also offer opportunities to network with other professionals and connect with local business organizations.

Starting a Business in Baldwin County
Hosts: Alabama SBDC, Coastal Alabama Bus. Chamber, Hand in Hand Bus Ctr.

Gulf Shores Police Chief Ed Delmore Announces His Retirement

Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – After 15 years of dedicated service, Gulf Shores Police Chief Ed Delmore has announced his retirement, effective immediately. Mayor Robert Craft informed the city council of Chief Delmore’s intent during a meeting on Monday, February 17, 2025. Chief Delmore will stay on the force as a special investigator until the end of his term, which ends in November.

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – Alabama's 14th annual Severe Weather Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday is set for Friday, February 21, through Sunday, February 23, 2025. During this period, residents can purchase essential severe weather preparedness items without paying the state's 4% sales tax. In some areas, local taxes will also be waived, allowing shoppers to save up to 10% on eligible items.
