NAS Pensacola Temporarily Closes to the Public for 3 Days This Week

The public will not be able to view this week’s Blue Angels Practice Shows from the base.

NAS Pensacola, Fla. – (OBA) – Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola will be closed to the public from Tuesday through Thursday, according to a recent announcement. The National Naval Aviation Museum, Pensacola Lighthouse and Maritime Museum, and Fort Barrancas will all be closed to the public for these three days.


The reason for the closure was not provided by the air station.


Therefore, the public will not be able to watch the Blue Angels practice from the air station on Tuesday or Wednesday. However, the Blues can still be viewed from the Walmart and Target parking lots on Blue Angel Parkway.


The air station's West Gate will only be accessible to Department of Defense (DoD) identification cardholders.


The public areas of NAS Pensacola are expected to reopen on Friday at 9am.

Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – Construction has begun on a new Justice Center in Gulf Shores. The project will combine the police department, jail, and municipal court in one modern complex. The $20.9 million contract was awarded to Persons Services Corporation. The new center will be located at 312 Medical Village Boulevard.

Tacky Jacks Hosts Weigh-In for St. Fatties Day Fishing Tournament

NAS Pensacola, Fla. – (OBA) – The U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, better known as the Blue Angels, is still at their winter base in El Centro, CA. We expect them to return to NAS Pensacola after their Sacramento, CA Air Show this weekend.
