Enhanced 911 Addressing Comes to Baldwin County

Robertsdale, Ala. – (OBA) – In a move towards bolstering emergency response capabilities in Baldwin County, the local 9-1-1 services have embarked on a strategic partnership with Geo-Comm, Inc., a specialist in public safety geographic information systems. This collaboration marks a pivotal step in enhancing the precision of address information within the county, thereby streamlining the operations of Next Generation 9-1-1 systems.

Press Release:

Baldwin County 9-1-1 and Geo-Comm, Inc. Join Forces to Enhance Address Information for Next Generation 9-1-1

Robertsdale, AL [01/05/2024] — Baldwin County 9-1-1, located in Robertsdale, is pleased to announce its partnership with Geo-Comm, Inc. (Geo-Comm), headquartered in Saint Cloud, Minnesota. The collaboration aims to validate address information for improved functionality in the 9-1-1 dispatch center, aligning with the goals of Next Generation 9-1-1 readiness, both at the local and state levels. This joint effort is set to significantly enhance the accuracy of countywide addressing data, with a primary focus on bolstering public safety measures.

The project commenced on November 13, 2023, and will continue with further field verification scheduled to run through April 2024. A Geo-Comm Field Technician will be on-site during the week of January 14th to the 21st, concentrating their efforts on verifying addresses in the northern section of the county north of Interstate 10, as well as along the coastline (refer to the map of the general area below). The Geo-Comm Field Technician's vehicle will be clearly identifiable, featuring the Geo-Comm logo and the Field Technician in official Geo-Comm attire. It's important to note that Field Technicians will solely confirm the location of structures and house numbers. They will not engage with residents or approach structures directly. If you encounter a Geo-Comm Technician's vehicle on your property, it is most likely for the purpose of verifying your house number. If your house number is not visibly displayed, we encourage you to do so for improved accuracy.
