Join Sand Sculpting Classes at Gulf State Park

Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – Sand Castle University just announced its new public sand sculpting classes, "Sand 101," open to individuals of all ages and skill levels. The classes will be held every Saturday from June 1st to August 17th at the Gulf State Park Pavilion, starting at 12:30 PM.


Sand 101 is designed as a beginner’s course, where participants will learn sandcastle building techniques in a fun, interactive setting. Each participant will have the opportunity to create their own sand castle, creating a personalized learning experience.


The cost for the class is $40 per person, and due to the limited spots available, early registration is encouraged. Interested individuals can sign up for the classes through SandCastle University's website at

This initiative not only provides a unique and enjoyable activity for residents and visitors of Gulf Shores, but also fosters a sense of community and creativity. Sand Castle University's goal is to offer a memorable summer experience through these engaging and educational sessions.

Two Killed in Foley Scooter Crash on County Road 65

Foley, Ala. – (OBA) – On April 13, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers responded to a collision on County Road 65, south of Airport Road in Foley, involving a pickup truck and an electric scooter. A preliminary investigation determined that a 2006 Chevy Colorado pickup truck fatally struck two individuals who were riding the scooter.
